Privacy policy
This policy explains what Hunt Valley Drive, does with personal information. It is written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
The short version. We collect the minimum needed to quote, book and drive your trip. Card details go straight to a payment processor and are not stored by us. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and this website contains no tracking or analytics of any kind. Ask us to delete your details and we will.
Who we are
Hunt Valley Drive is a private car service operated by Anil Godar and based in Hunt Valley, Maryland. For any question about this policy, contact us by phone at (410) 555-0100 or by email at booking@example.com.
What we collect
We only collect information you give us directly, when you contact us or book a trip:
- Your name, so we know who we are meeting.
- Your phone number, to confirm the booking and reach you at pickup.
- Your email address, if you choose to give one, to send a written quote or confirmation.
- Trip details — pickup address, destination, date, time, number of passengers, and any flight number you provide.
- Anything you write to us in the message field, by email, or by text.
Some of this is needed to provide the service at all. A trip cannot be driven without knowing where to collect you. If you would rather not put an address in writing, call and arrange it by phone instead.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect or store payment card numbers ourselves. Card details are entered directly with a third-party payment processor, which handles them under the card industry's own security standards. We see only a record that a card is on file and the last few digits.
- We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, heat mapping, or any other tracking technology. See the cookie policy.
- We do not track your location. If you tell us where you are going, that is because you typed it.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children. Bookings are made by adults.
Why we use it
Your information is used for these purposes and nothing else:
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a price.
- To arrange, confirm and drive your trip.
- To contact you about a booking already made — for example if traffic changes the timing.
- To keep the business records required by law, including those the Maryland Public Service Commission requires of licensed carriers.
We will not send you marketing you did not ask for.
Payment information
To secure a booking we ask for a payment card, which is either charged after the trip or prepaid at the time of booking, depending on what you choose. That card is handled by a payment processor acting on our behalf. We keep a record of the transaction for accounting, tax and dispute purposes, as the law requires, but not the full card number.
Text messages
We will only text you if you have ticked the optional box on the contact form or otherwise told us it is fine. Those messages relate to your booking — confirmations, pickup updates, and changes. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, and it will not affect your ability to book by phone. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information, and we never will. We do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not trade it with other businesses.
A small number of service providers necessarily handle information in the course of running the business — for example the email provider that carries our messages, and the telephone service that connects our calls and texts. They process it on our behalf only, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We may disclose information where the law requires it: a valid court order, a lawful request from the Maryland Public Service Commission or another regulator, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Third-party content on this website
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookie is set and no account is involved. If you would prefer this not to happen, the fonts can be served from this website directly instead — that change is described in the setup guide included with the site.
Apart from that, there are no embedded maps, videos, social media widgets, chat boxes, or advertising networks anywhere on this site.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within 12 months.
- Completed trip records are kept as long as required for tax, insurance and carrier record-keeping obligations, then deleted.
- Text and email conversations are deleted when they are no longer needed for the purposes above.
Keeping it safe
Information is held on password-protected devices and accounts with reasonable safeguards appropriate to a business of this size. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we hold very little, for a short time, and we do not put it anywhere it does not need to be.
Your choices and rights
Whatever your state of residence, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information, unless we are legally required to keep a record.
- Give you a copy of what you provided.
- Stop contacting you.
Ask by phone or email using the contact details above. We will respond within 45 days. There is no charge, and exercising any of these rights will not affect the service you receive.
Maryland residents
The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act gives Maryland consumers rights over their personal data. Because of our size, we fall below the thresholds at which that Act formally applies. We follow its core principles anyway — in particular its data minimization standard, and its prohibition on selling sensitive data — and we honour the rights listed above for everyone who asks. If you believe we have handled your information improperly, you may contact the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be communicated directly to affected customers where we hold contact details for them.
